Simple Layout ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge 623

Here we go with a new sketch from our team at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! You can use the sketch however you like. We just need to be able to see the sketch in your project.

Our sketch goes live on Monday. Our blog opens for entries on Wednesday.

I decided to go with a layout this time. I did change the oval to a rectangle to accommodate the photo. There is more background space, too, because of expanding the overall size of my project. BUT, you can still see the sketch in the layout so all is good.

I did some random stamping to soften the white space. I also went dark with my color with a bright accent color. I took these colors directly from the photo.

A couple of the products I used are unavailable but there always is another way to create the same look. Use any type of texture stamp you like. To replace the dots you could use other dots or use a marker to color a white or clear dot.

Spring Corners Card ~ Color Dare #645

Welcome to our newest Color Dare Challenge. Each Friday we give you a new set of colors to create any paper craft you like. You must use at least 3 of the colors shown in the graphic. See the graphic for more info on colors. When you're ready to join our challenge click here.

I wanted to try this technique of paper piecing and this was the perfect time. I used the die to cut the flowers. I cut it out in each of the 4 colors. The white is the base and I used the pieces from the other cuts to fill in the spaces on the white layer. I'll be honest, working with the tiny pieces was a bit challenging but seeing the finished product I think it was worth it.

You don't have to paper piece with this set like I did. You can also stamp then layer the cut out piece over other colors of cardstock or use the die cut as a stencil, or any other way you can think of. There are also some great sentiments to fit around a corner! Between the dies and stamp images the possibilities are endless!

Heirloom Arrangements Alternate Ideas - 4 of 4

Today I'm sharing the Heirloom Arrangements Card Kit with you. Our kits are amazing and this one is wonderful! It's been designed for you to create cards based on examples shared in to how-to brochure. However, it also is designed to let you go rogue (as we call it) and make your own designs using the kit contents. Either way this is one fine kit!

You can see the samples in the photo below so what I'm going to share over the next couple March Tuesday and Thursday posts are ways I went rogue with the kit! This is the last post of my rogue cards for this kits. If you missed the other 3 posts just check the posts on March 18, 20 & 25.

Scroll down to see the third set of cards.

Heirloom Arrangements Card Kit

This car used items from the kit with a couple add ons. I used a Blending Brush and Fresh Freesia ink to create a cloud of pink behind the flowers. This gives definition between the flowers and the background. Earth Tones Shimmer Gems, Fresh Freesia Ribbon add to the look.

This last card uses items included in the kit except for the Regal Foiled Dots. the rest is just a simple design.

So you see, this kit is highly versatile! Use the designs in the brochure, use sketches, use your imagination! It will all work with this kit!

Thanks for checking out my ideas! I hope you enjoyed seeing my rogue designs!

I went out of my color comfort zone on this one and used a lot of yellow. The card base is Daffodil Delight, The white layer is embossed with Dashing Designs EF. The Everyday Arches Dies were used on two layers with therein embossed with the Distressed Tile EF. Once again Rhinestone Basic Jewels were used to accent.

This card uses items from the card kit but with a different design I came up with. The only extra item is the Faux Glass Dots. By simply rearranging items you can create an entirely different look.

All extra products I used to go rogue were from my stash making it easy to stretch the kits contents for making many more cards!

Thanks for checking out my ideas! Come back Thursday for two more rogue cards.

Team Color Challenge

I love our Team challenges each month. This one is a Color Challenge: Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Misty Moonlight. here is my version using those colors.

I hadn't used this stamp set yet so this was a perfect time to get it out and make it inky! the design is simple, which I find as I get older is more and more my style.

The idea to tuck the sentiment behind the floral layer was spur of the moment. I love how it looks. What do you think?

Bold Colors ~ Color Dare #644

Welcome to our newest color challenge from our team at Color Dare. This week we are challenging you to use at least 3 of the color shown in the graphic. See the graphic for the fine print. Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join our challenge click here.

I ended up with this bold look and it's so fun! By placing the arches to the side it creates a fun look and gives you space for sentiments along the side. I did curve the stamp for the blue layer. The sentiments and image are all white heat embossed.
